Updates and news from the photographer

TWP - Snowman

November 30th, 2008 S. T. McDole

This and the next TWP will be straight from the camera till I can get the dsl modem fixed.  Each of these two shots were test photos to get an idea for how the lighting fell.  The actual intended shots will be up once I have internet access again.

TWP - Pepper

November 26th, 2008 S. T. McDole

One of the photos I mentioned that should have been posted, but wasn’t.

Simply, a pepper. I wish I could claim the idea was completely mine. This photo was taken and staged in an attempt to test out more commercial style photo attempts.

It was shot at night to allow for a slower shutter speed. Several different allegedly flammable substances had been used prior to this to see what had the best effect. This resulted in the interesting conundrum of the pepper being so completely inflammable that I half considered saving to mail to California for the eventual yearly infernos. The idea being this individual pepper’s innate immunity to fire would extinguish any live flame within proximity to it.

The second attempt proved…. overly flammable, sadly.

TWP - Tenant Birds

November 23rd, 2008 S. T. McDole

Stormy sky, an old brick building with holes in the outer wall and a flock of birds seeking any shelter they could find.

My latest photo essay is up on Gant Daily.

TWP - Gume

November 19th, 2008 S. T. McDole

It has been about a month since the last Twice Weekly Photo.

Well, part of the reason is that some photos I thought I had setup to appear on this simply haven’t. Another part is simply, what do I post here?

Some of these photos will be in my galleries once I update them. Others, like this are just for fun. So, for now I decided a fun photo is better than none.

Now, “Gume” here was a spur of the moment photo. Walking through the grocery store I noticed the gummy worms and thought “Dune”. Strange mix, but once of those fleeting thoughts that bugs me until I do something about it.

This is mostly a test of concept photo. There are plans for a clearer version. The background is a flower planter, for example. So it’ll be on hold till I visit a beach.
